Meteorology

If anything could distract Eric from his sailing it is his desire to understand the causes of the weather experienced on the racecourse. This led to him studying Meteorology at the University of British Columbia and Environment Canada, where he has gained a deeper understanding of the complexities of weather. Although he still spends the same amount of time on the water, he will as often have a thermometer and wet notes in hand as on a tiller or wheel. He received his BSc in Atmospheric Science from UBC in 2006 and a Diploma in Operational Meteorology from Environment Canada in 2007. Eric is a member of the American Meteorological Society, the Royal Meterological Society, and the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
